On Thursday, January 24, 2008 at 0531hrs Stations 22, 20, Medic 4, and ALS 14 were dispatched for an MVC with a roll over. Upon arrival of A22 and ALS 14 they found a box truck over turned and down an embankment approx. 100ft. off of the roadway. As A22 made their way to the vehicle Rescue 20 arrived under command of Rescue Captain A.J. Riccio Jr.(Captain 20), who initiated 495 command. A22 advised command that the driver was trapped form the waist down and recommended the HACSR team to assist in getting the driver up the embankment and back to the road. Command called for the HACSR team and a third rescue company for manpower. Command was passed to Minquadale Fire Chief Joe Day (22-8). Crews worked for about 45 minutes to extricate the driver who was the sole occupant of the vehicle. The HACSR team packaged the patient and safely removed him to awaiting EMS units. All units worked well and the operation was yet another success. Thanks to everyone involved. All units cleared the scene about 0730hrs.
