At 0726 hrs the New Castle County Communications Center alerted Station 20, 22, BLS Units A-22, A-18, A-28, A-23, and ALS units Medic 1 and Medic 2 for an MVC with a rollover involving a school bus. A-20 arrived on the scene at 0730 hrs and confirmed the bus to be on its side with negative entrapment. Chief Maxwell arrived just after A-20 and established command. Initial reports from the DRBA PD that the bus had 46 total occupants with 15 claiming injury. A triage area was set up and all patients were evaluated by ALS personnel prior to transport. A total of 32 patients were transported to CER by BLS units and a shuttle bus from Christiana Care. Command placed the incident under control at 0801 hrs.
