New Castle County Communications Center alerted to a Commercial Vehicle Fire on I-295 EB just pass New Castle Ave.

Station 20, 22, and duty engine 32 was alerted to the alarm @ 18:46. 205 made the response under the command of firefighter William Wipf. 325 was first on scene and advised the trailer was fully involved. 325 placed a line in service with the help of crews from 226.

On arrival firefighter Wipf assumed 295 command and 205 placed a 2" line in service to assist 325 and 226 with fire suppression. At this time there are now two hand lines in service. On arrival 222 hooked up to 205 to provide an extra water supply.

The crews quickly extinguished the blaze and the assignment was placed under control @ 20:05. All units cleared the scene @ 20:14 and was turned over to DRBA Police Department and CPG Towing.
